Good Morning Everyone ….

Well, I have the test graded. They were not what I expected and I do see some areas that the entire class will need to improve on.  But that is what learning is all about!  Right?

For homework, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR NOTEBOOKS ARE UP TO DATE!  They should be complete through Chapter 5.  Other than that, do not go into the next section until after class next week.

For the advanced class, please go ahead and complete 5.5.  Do not go any further than that!

On Thursday, each of you will need to bring a notebook or extra paper with you.  It will also be helpful if you bring a ruler and a pencil.  We are going to spend some time on graphs.  It is the one area that most of the students missed.  Since graphs will be a vital part of both science and math, I want to make sure you have a really good understanding on how to read them and how to use them.

Ok, I will see everyone on Thursday. Your lab books will need to be turned into me at the beginning of the class and you will receive it back at the end of the day.

Secondly, please make sure you are coming to class prepared. Bring sharpened pencils or pens. Your lab book and any other needed supplies.  To the older students, you will not need you gliders this week at Co-Op.

The week of 9/16–9/22: Homework

We had a lot of fun during class this past week and I hope all of you have been learning as well.  This week, we are going to press forward into chapter 2!

Before we head there, I want to share with you about a chance meeting that we had yesterday.

My sons and I stopped to get gas yesterday at Flying J, in Blacksburg.  While there, we noticed a man who was hauling a glider behind his camper.  We stopped to ask him more about it.  He spent 20 minutes telling us about aerodynamics and much more.  He is a pilot for Delta Airline 777. As a pass time, he races gliders. His call sign is DL.  I am sharing a few links with you concerning his passion.

He will be competing in the upcoming race in VA.  His name is

DL
Dennis Linnekin
18 Meter

Here are some Youtube Videos in case you want to know more: This not Dennis but a friend of his.
